The risks for safety are the same everywhere – at school and at home, in shopping centres, in the playground and on the Internet. In case of the Internet or other online communication technologies it is even more complicated, because we do not see the person with whom we communicate. Therefore, it is necessary to improve other skills for compensating this “blindman's buff” and these skills are known as information skills.

Funnily enough, there are many people who never forget to close windows and lock the door of their house. However, in the Internet environment this caution vanishes into thin air. Many people act irresponsibly and carelessly, because they believe that all their activities are anonymous; most of us do not have the faintest idea that it is possible to track every single activity on the Internet.

Social networks are websites, where it is possible to register and create an individual profile and then contact and communicate with other people (friends, relatives, schoolmates, acquaintances).
